Year 5 and Year 6 form the Oaks Class during the morning session, when they study reading, writing and mathematics.  During the afternoon session the Oaks study science, computing and PSHE separately from the Saplings but the classes often combine for wider curriculum lessons such as music, R.E. and history, where topics are covered on a two or four-year rolling programme.
