Intent

At Osmotherley Primary School we feel passionately about the benefits of outdoor learning and are lucky to have a qualified Forest School leader, Mrs Bridge.  The children attend Forest school every other week in Early Years and Key Stage 1 and once every term for Key Stage 2.

Forest Schools is all about developing the whole child, their confidence, self-esteem, and social skills, as well as improving their knowledge and understanding of the rich and varied natural environment which links in very well with our science curriculum.  Forest schools is only ever cancelled in windy weather; snow and rain are simply a good challenge!  We provide a detailed kit list for parents to ensure children have everything they need to enjoy their learning outside.
